
Dr. Carlos Marrero, LCSW, EdD, Staff Guardian ad Litem
Dr. Carlos Marrero serves as a Guardian ad Litem for the Children’s Law Center, where he advocates for the best interests of children and families involved in complex Family Court matters. With a background spanning mental health, education, and systems-level consulting, he brings a child-centered, trauma-informed, and developmentally grounded approach to high-conflict custody, parenting, educational, and behavioral health cases.
Dr. Marrero is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Doctorate in Education. His professional experience includes leadership in behavioral health, educational advocacy, crisis intervention, family systems work, and multidisciplinary collaboration with schools, providers, attorneys, and community agencies throughout Connecticut.
As a Guardian ad Litem, Dr. Marrero focuses on thorough investigation, balanced assessment, and practical recommendations that support child safety, emotional well-being, stability, and long-term healthy family functioning.
